Staying Fit in Today's World



Being a fit and healthy individual is every one's desire, yet the quick tempo of everyday life doesn't permit everyone time to focus on their health. This could lead to a lot of health problems later on in life, problems that are related to low metabolism and malnutrition. It is therefore important to set aside some time for self improvement and meditation.

Here are some tips that could help you improve your lifestyle with just a few hours of activities divided through your day:

• Wake up 2 hours before your bath time and drink almost a liter of water gradually and eat a banana. Then spend between 60-90 minutes in a workout routine that begins with warming up and leading to intense physical exercise such as running or swimming or playing a team sport.

• Always remember to stretch after you exercise and drink plenty of water. Cool down before your shower by slow deep breathing to help relax your muscles from the activity.

• Have a large filling Protein and Carbohydrate rich breakfast. Milk, eggs, bread, juice, fruits etc. are ideal.

• Lunch and dinner should be medium sized meals and not over eaten, especially dinner as it causes indigestion and upsets sleep. This also lets the stomach shrink to accommodate a smaller appetite (if there was a larger one before).

• Slot in a short 30-45 minute exercise session in the evening comprising of exercises that can be done in sets, such as pushups, abdomen crunches and other abdominal exercises, squats, pull ups. You can also engage in sports to bring variation to the routine.

• Take a break after every 2-3days of exercise to allow your body to recover and let your muscles grow stronger so you can push further next time.

• Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help lose fat and keep your blood and kidneys clean.

• Meditation before sleep strengthens the mind's connection to the body and helps you have a restful sleep and rise early and energetic.

• Refrain from having carbonated drinks and oily preserved foods, try to eat fresh food wherever you go to keep you body revitalized and rejuvenated.

You can vary the activities to optimize your workout for yourself and could do this with a friend or spouse to take the boredom out of the routine. While there are some who love to exercise, there are those who find it a chore and need to be kept motivated.
